I really need a step by step on how to install this game. I am using Windows 7. I get through activation and setup but can't find how to find the game in the c:\, etc. Thanks!
W.R. Got a question re: Alawar Game Box.
All of the other games I have gotten through GOTD, which were alawar show up in the "My Games" listing in the box. All except for today's game. Do you know if there is a way to add it in or will it find it when I next start up the computer?
Have...
Arctic Quest 2
Sky Bubbles Deluxe
Discord Times
Bloxxit
Strike Ball 2 Deluxe
Not sure if all of them were from GOG, but some were.

While I am thinking about it, went to edit profile thinking I could add an avatar, but don't see a way to do that, where do I go? Could probably find it on my own but am a little bit under some time restraints here trying to get the website research completed and figure someone here would have that info stuck in their brain-pan to save me some time.

@ skbatson, if you used the default setup then you should find the "Turtix Resque Andventure" (sic) folder in c:/games.
@ CabLady, if you go to the My Games tab, then to the Other Games tab, there is an option in the top right of the window to add games, so you can add any of your games into that section.
Hope this helps.

Please stay on topic, thank you.
Maybe I just can't figure out how to play this but on the first level after jumping on the ball, it said I was supposed to go the exit and press action (or something like that). I used the keyboard and also right clicked but nothing happened. I don't know what they are referring to.
TY, StevieD!
Alawar Gamebox doesn't recognize this as an Alawar game because it is installed differently and doesn't have the wrapper. Adding it as an "Other" game is the only way but you will not see the game's normal thumbnail.
Also, if you have ALL your other Alawar games showing in Gamebox, you're lucky! I've been fighting with Alawar for 2 months now trying everything they've asked and I still have 17 Alawar games (Most downloaded USING Gamebox) that do not show at all - even after adding the registry items as requested by them.
Hi Terri, the 'action' button is Ctrl.
Sorry about the off topic, but thank you for the direction. Also for the advice on adding today's game to Alawar's Game Box!
Does anybody know the secret to completing level 3-B? It's the one where you have to get 30 stars in 60 seconds. I don't think 30 stars even drop in the 60 seconds. At any rate, I just can't seem to do it. OR is there a way to "bypass" the level? It's really frustrating. The other levels, even the boss levels were all so easy, then this one pops up and seems impossible.....UGH!!!!! Can anyone help????
I lost my original games a while back when I got a new pc. I just re-downloaded Turtix Rescue Adventure when it was available about a week ago. When I get to level 11 the little turtles fall off the screen before they get to the transport spot. I went out and back in to the section where the one baby turtle had fallen and I can see him walking but he's up above the section where he was sitting waiting to be rescued. Has anyone else had this happen? Any suggestions? So far I've only been able to rescue 1 baby, the others all "fall off" so I can't go any further in the game. HELP!!!!
I'd look into a problem with your video card drivers as WR suggested in a comment on the game's giveaway page:
This is an old game so may have problems if you don't have updated video drivers. Download the latest drivers for your video card. You can find out what your video card is by opening up the directX diagnostics panel. Type DXDiag in the search field to open it up, then check the display tab. you should see what video card you have. Then go to the manufacturers web site (usually ASUS/ATI or NVidia) and download the latest drivers for your card or graphics chip.
Hi Chris. There's a new VMWare Player BTW [ neowin[.]net/news/vmware-workstation-player-1253 ]
RE: Graphics Drivers, in case it helps anyone...
For AMD go to AMD[.]com & click Support. Make sure to read the release notes before you download a driver -- it's easy to get the latest certified or beta drivers, then find out that they won't work for you, so read the notes 1st to make sure your card or chip is listed.
Getting Intel graphics drivers can be iffy... They may only be listed in Microsoft's Windows Update databases -- in that case Control Panel -> Device Mgr -> right click the Display Driver & click to search for updates. I've had better luck with finding any available drivers on intel[.]com by Googling the Intel CPU # or model 1st, then looking for Intel's Ark page for that CPU in the results. That Ark page often has links to the latest drivers Intel has on their site. Intel has a downloadable app for that too, but it's not worked for me.
And if you're running 10 by chance, you *might* need to download & install DX9.
Thanks guys. I'm sure i have the latest drivers cause hubby keeps everything up to date, but I'll check just to be sure.
BTW, I am running Windows 10.
Mikiem mentioned the possible need to install DirectX version 9 (DX9) if you're running Windows 10. Windows 10 ships with DX12 but, while it's supposed to be backwards compatible with DX9, it's often problematic with older games.
This article from Microsoft (Installing directx 9 on Windows 10?) talks about the problem with DX12 and provides this link to The DirectX End-User Runtimes (June 2010) that you'll need to install. Note that it recommends creating a restore point first (and I recommend a full system backup as well because I don't trust restore points).

Oh my YES!
In trying to idiot-proof system restore MS designs it to keep anything new you might have added, with the intention of saving docs you've written &/or pictures you've saved since the restore point was set. In practice that means it may or may not work, & if it does work, it can throw security software into a nightmare limbo. It doesn't always happen, but I've had security software self-update, & after the restore, parts of the update remained, while other parts did not. The result was that it wouldn't work, nor would it update again to get things working.
Also, since 10 will be updating to a new version in as little as 3 weeks, maybe hold on to the DX9 setup file you download -- assuming it helps, you might want to run it again on the new version, since I'm skeptical it would all transfer. Also also, that's the complete package at that link -- it's a zip-type file that'll expand to the actual setup files -- and MS also offers a much smaller web installer that downloads only what it needs.
