I installed Glary Utilities Pro 2.41.0 1358 last time it was offered. I just received notification there is an update. The update is Glary Utilities Pro Trial. Is this going to wipe out my license?

You cannt update most giveaways without invalidating the licence. That is, if you do allow the program to update it will change your full version to a demo.
Some programs for example Zoner Photo Studio do allow minor updates, but not to the next full version number.

FWIW, if you want to see if an update works or not, figure out what method of putting things back works for you, give it a try, & put things back if the results are unsatisfactory. I hold off on some updates etc. until just after I've done a regular, maintenance backup -- restoring that backup, if necessary, will then be 100% current. I also use Wondershare Timefreeze -- there are several alternatives that work more-or-less the same way, making any changes to a virtual drive rather than your real one, & you can then decide if you want the changes to be made permanent or not. In win7 you can *try* setting a restore point, using system restore to put things back, but I've had it fail more than once, so personally don't consider it fool proof.
Whiterabbit's right -- most software on GOTD can't be updated [it's stated clearly on the GOTD page where you downloaded the app to begin with], but how strictly a software company follows that policy varies from one dev to the next, & can also depend on how major/minor the update is. If an update adds several new features &/or improvements you'll likely have to pay for them -- if OTOH an update repairs a minor bug, a mistake that shouldn't have been in the final code to begin with, the update might work fine.
