   Kim Dotcom is on bail awaiting hearing of an extradition order sought by the United

   Megaupload millionaire Kim Dotcom and his family have been granted a $60,000 a month living allowance.

   In a minute released today by Justice Judith Potter in the High Court at Auckland, she allowed $20,000 a month to be paid to Dotcom from interest on $10 million worth of Government Bonds.

   A second monthly payment of $40,000 is to come from his Rabobank account, which currently has $301,758.70 in it.

   Dotcom was also given back the use of his 2011 Mercedes Benz but he has to arrange insurance and garaging of the car.

   At that hearing, Justice Potter agreed to release a Toyota Vellfire van to Mrs Dotcom. She was also given $12,650 to cover medical costs and $20,000 to cover living expenses.

   DotCom also brought up another interesting point during the interview. He said that while individual copyright owners had been critical of the service, not one major film studio or record company had ever filed suit against MegaUpload or even sent him a cease and desist letter. He was, however, sued by a porn studio for copyright infringement last year. The case was settled out of court.

   Kim Dotcom wants to swim and record album

   Dotcom's lawyer Paul Davison said his client wanted internet access, permission to meet with his co-accused to research their court case, permission to go swimming at an Auckland pool; and be allowed to travel to a music studio to finish recording an album.

   The album was a collaboration between Dotcom and several international artists, some who had travelled from the United States.

   "[Dotcom] is involved in both the writing of lyrics and had input into aspects of music... appearances that some would say are cameo in nature," Davison said.

   He said sales from the album would provide his client with revenue, which he was entitled to as a human right.

   Davison said Dotcom also wanted to go swimming at a pool for 90 minutes each day to help with his back problems.

   The lawyer said Dotcom had already proved he was trustworthy by attending the birth of his twins recently without issue.

   The criminal charges against Kim Dotcom in the United States may never get to trial, the judge overseeing the case has told the FBI.

   United States district court judge Liam O'Grady said he didn't know if "we are ever going to have a trial in this matter" after being told Dotcom's file-sharing company had never been formally served with criminal papers by the US.
