Sadly, the article is the way of the world. I don't own my house, I've merely licensed the opportunity to pay property taxes. Because I only own a license my property isn't mine to do with as I please, I must comply with all the "Terms and Conditions" or my "Property Tax Paying License" will be revoked. If you're willing to pay more property taxes on my licensed property then my license may also be revoked. Oh, and just so you know, if you have an OEM Operating System then you don't even own the license, the computer owns it.
I really can't imagine why people would be "licensing" more digital content given the chilling aspects of SOPA and PIPA . Imagine having your apps, programs and all of your data deleted because of alleged copyright infringement. You did nothing wrong, you followed the rules and your work product is vaporized. The more technology advances, the more I become a Luddite.
