rapidshare.com rapidshare.de megaupload.com etc
erm, i was saying about somwhere where i can store my handphone videos, music, pictures etc just i case my computer crashes...
:D
I would suggest removable media (like DVDs or an external Hard Drive)
I use http://www.drivehq.com/
But I think they only offer 1 GB free space, Xdrive offers 5 gb free space.
There is no law against using them all but it depends on how large are the files you need to store. I have backed a bunch of stuff on drivehq and it's still there.
If you don't want no one reading your files, even them. Use http://securezip.com/. It's free and it's a great program. How it works is that program zips it and the only person who knows the password to the zip can open the zip. So don't forget the password you give the zip if you use that program.
I use it, it's good.
You could try Streamload Mediamax - 25GB of FREE online storage. But they limit how much you can download each month.
At over 4GB per blank DVD - I still think for privacy, security and speed of backup and recovery - the online solutions just can't compete. Probably because most Internet plans in Australia limit the amount that can be downloaded each month, and upload speeds can be terribly slow.
Bubby some people don't own a dvd burner. I don't have one, however you can use cdr's to backup. I use to use them and going to have to do it again especially since we got a new cdrw drive and I don't want to run into any problems when I have to restore the computer.
It will take it back eventually. My old compaq computer had two new drives put in and the restore disks that we got with the computer eventually took it back after four hours of trying to restore the computer.
I hope I don't have any problems with Norton Ghost 9 and I hope I don't have to upgrade in order to use it. It's been a long time since I used it and that is going to take about 20 cdrs, maybe more till I verify you can use the cds and all that, it's going to take a long time.
@eaLazerBeam - i've tried MediaMax, they limit to 10MB per download...
and BLu-rays are not readily available in Singapore- only Sony is selling it and they hav in on their Vaio notebooks, none for other brands such as Dell Acer Compaq etc
MOZY offers you 2GB free. And the software is easy to use. You can crypt files before sending, and by referral, you can increase your space.
@bonbecman - thanks alot! :)
