   My Zone Alarm Sub is running out and I am tired of it 's bloat..so I have been trying other firewalls...I really need a firewall that I can control; not the other way around. I know Outpost doesn't like Autopatcher. Plus I need something that won't upset the hubby too much.

   As of now, Comodo has thrown “TinySpell” in it’s sandbox and won’t release it. It deleted my NFO viewer and I downloaded(it did let me download them though) and ate 3 more viewers when I tried to install them. Then it refused to let me download template programs for That faceOff program since it didn’t recognize the extensions. I had to download them from another PC. It abhors my torrent program and my other nefarious search sites for my video viewing--Thanks to where I live. I am not even going to try my AutoPatcher for my MS updates. If it eats that ..that is ALL my MS updates…even though I do keep them backed up on a flash drive. ACK! now, it has my SysResources program(another GOTD program) in the sandbox.

   That’s it….. Nothing tells me what I can run on MY PC….Besides..it’s eating paid programs..Grumble…

   I have it on “Learning mode”. Well, I hope it “learns” from me, when I boot it out the door.

   I want something to say…It might be BAD if you do this..then if I decide I want to..it can’t stop me.

   Zone Alarm has a special right now..so...

   Any other suggestions..

   If you check Gizmo's list of "The Best Freeware" you'll find a number of free firewalls. I quit buying firewalls a long time ago - the commercial versions seem to be designed to prevent "Bob in Accounting" from downloading Fantasy Football stats and other non-work appropriate stuff. That's fine for a company, but if I want to download something via my personal computer then I don't want to fight the firewall. I've used PCTools for quite some time and I also use TCPeye (Click No. 16 Network Traffic Monitoring) to see what's connecting.

   I've used 'Sygate Personal Firewall 5.5 build 2710' for years, and have installed it on several of my friends machines, and have been quite happy with it!!! ;o)

   i'v been using it for family and frinds for a bit now and thay seem to under stand it well
   it seems to work good with Avast Free good and add Sandboxie :)

    Thanks guys for all the suggestions. I use Winpatrol Pro already. Since I will be the one that has to config the 3 PC's, I have decided to stay with ZA. Yeah, I know..lazy. But my husband is a "click happy fool" and ZA is already setup..so it makes my life easier. The one and only virus I ever got was from him and the fact that we "shared" all the folders in Win98. Now we share only ONE folder..

    I did like the looks of Privatefirewall so I may be checking that out later.

    GetDiz was the first NFO viewer Comodo ate.

    Anyways..thanks again guys.. Been very helpful.

    I've been happy with Comodo's free internet security premium. It's got both virus protection as well as firewall.

    if he click happy he not like Comodo fire wall one time I got it wrong and end if the firewall take off refit to fix
