I received this message and though I'd better post it here in the forums. I'm sure most of you don't accept unsolicited friends requests via Steam but just in case here is the message:
WARNING! .... Listen here. If two people by name (NisseFar and Nivek) wants to add you to their list, not accept. It is a virus.Tell everyone on your list because if someone on your list adds him or her, you get it too. It is a hard drive killer and a very horrible virus. Please pass it on to everyone on your list. We need to find out who is using this account. i was told to tell u this, plz copy and paste to other ppl on ur friend list
I'm not sure about the bit about it being able to infect your drive via another users account especially as their drive according to the warning would be destroyed, so they wouldn't be able to access any of their friends, but, better safe than sorry. Please pass this message on to all of your Steam friends. Thank you.
There has been several threads talking about this news on the Steam forums. I'm not sure whether it's a joke or serious, some say it is some say its not. Maybe someone started the news becasue the two named characters upset them, who knows?
