I wanted to post this game and loads of others earlier in the week as this week is the third anniversary of the first week of this project, unfortunately I had some major problems last weekend that led to me having to reinstall the operating systems onto my two main computers. I lost all of the preparatory work I’d done on the games I was intending to post, and to be honest didn’t feel like re-doing any of it until now. Max-xion is the first of several games that I was intending to post earlier. Hopefully I’ll post at least one or more every day until all of the games I remembered have been redone and posted (I lost all details with the reinstall). This will probably take me well into September to finish, so please do watch out for some excellent games over the next few weeks. All are to celebrate the projects longevity. :)
We posted games virtually every day from September 2008 through to January of this year when I suggested that the team of friends who were posting at the time post when they felt like it rather than posting to a set schedule. (We’d divided up a two week segment so that we had to post on specific days). For me at any rate it got a little too much after over 2 years of searching, playing, gathering information and creating images that were then uploaded to various image storage sites, then writing up each game I wanted to post, so the decision to post when we felt like it was a good one.
Since January we have been joined by Chazzo, who has basically been keeping the project afloat as the rest of us took a long sabbatical; that said I have been posted games intermittently over the past several months since we stopped postig every day (apart from when there was a game giveaway being posted. I still have a few hundred games in the 'to post' folder, which had luckily been stored on an external drive......... Okay less waffle.
Here’s the first game, a decent arkanoid/breakout
Max-xion 3D: (6.98MB)
The game unpacks to a folder with no installer, so you will have to place the folder yourself, then create a shortcut. The installed game is 15.9Mb in size. The game starts in a window which is adjustable or you can change it to full screen by clicking on the maximize button you can also minimize the game to the task bar if needed.
Ths is a decent attempt at a breakout game. you don't see many being created these days. The game has some decent game play and realistic physics 9just watch the power up's when they fall. they bounce off anything that's in their way. Watch out for the enemy missiles. they will destroy your paddle if you get hit.
The Game:
Max-xion 3D is a space arkanoid game created by POOF. It has lots of effect to keep you glued to the game. There are bonus items as well as specials throughout the game. The 3D effects and the game editor are another plus points for the game.
