I have tried to register this software several times, but it keeps saying; "The information you have entered is either incomplete or invalid." Could you please tell me what to do? Thanks...Mike

im haveing the same problem pls help !!
Posted 13 years ago # -
Yep, me too.
It registered when I clicked do not restart the computer.
But, it didn't register it, when I restarted the computer.
After I did get it to register, I then restarted the computer, it reverted back to a 2 day trial period.
It's a no win situation for Windows 7 x64 users.

Sorry for that, but help is on its way.
The GOTD project-team posted a comment on the download-site:# 1
Dear users,
we are deeply sorry for the situation. Please use the key in the readme.txt to request your personal code here:

We will update the builds ASAP. There is no need to re-download the archive for those who already get the build.

Says mine expires in 360 days? Does anyone else get the same thing? Thanks. I'm going to restart it and see if it works. ;p
Posted 13 years ago # -
Thank you, it works now. That was fast.
So, after 359 days over, then what happens? Does it go back to a trial period?
Posted 13 years ago # -
Like all paid-for AV programmes, the licence is good for a certain period, mostly 1 year.
After that time, you won't get any updates for databases and configuration, thus making the programme worthless. You can use it but what is it good for without actual updates?I think this is a generous offer, only the technical support (only one time) is reduced for the GOTD build.
BTW on the Agnitum homepage you'll find a special bargain:

I have Windows 7 64 bit. Does that mean I should use the "If you are x64 OS user" link?
Thanks.

Yep, Terri!

I've downloaded it but haven't installed yet. Can we choose to install ONLY anti-virus and not the firewall part, the do firewall at a later date?
Posted 13 years ago # -
Sorry, Terry, I can't help you here. I haven't installed it yet - and doubt that I will do it. But that has nothing to do with the quality of this programme.
I would advise you, to read the comments and the discussions on the homepage/ the user forum.
I'm not sure, if the activation will still be good, if you install a part of the build later.Hopefully someone has a better answer.

There are a lot of posts on the regular comments page, so in case it makes it easier finding just install-related info, here's what I came up with -- Mods please delete if double-post is a problem... I don't what number comment will be, assuming it's not too late to pass mods, & this answers question(s) as best I can.

Monitored installs in XP Pro 32 SP3, win7 ult 32 SP1, & win7 HP 64 SP1…
The md5 #s: OutpostSecuritySuitePro_x32.zip = 606abf72ff06a4f8d0892618521f78f0 — OutpostSecuritySuitePro_x64.zip = c74584dac159eee3792a5a43f4e21e2f . Both .zip files include a readme.txt & a setup.exe — once the GOTD setup verifies the date by phoning home, you get a WinRAR self-extracting archive that gives you the actual setup file.
Expert Install includes options to include: “Web Control”, “Anti-Malware protection”, & “Anti-Spam”. Option to download latest definitions during install. Option to “Auto create and update rules” [Default], “Auto create rules”, & “Disable automatic rule creation” — below that checkbox to “Automatically train Outpost Security Suite Pro during one week”. It appears to download several mal-ware database files rather than one latest file with everything included. After required restart notice that 2 days of evaluation period remaining. E-mail with registration info recieved almost immediately with 3 services known to block spam at the server level — e-mail says: “The key is valid since 19-08-2011 till 18-08-2012” — the “Enter registration key” Start Menu shortcut didn’t work, but taskbar icon right-click context menu did. Install proceeded smoothly with Security Essentials installed & running in XP Pro, though after install & before re-start XP shows a security warning to install AV software. In win7 HP 64 SP1 with McAfee Internet Security realtime scanning off, Outpost setup detected it and said it would modify install accordingly — after restart I thought it interesting that McAfee, with realtime scanning still off, did not show the usual needs attention sort of icon.
Installation in XP Pro added a “Agnitum” folder under All Users Application Data holding mostly *.ini files, an empty “Agnitum” folder under User Application Data, left behind several files, mostly logs in the User Temp folder, added the “Agnitum” program folder with 506 files, 24 folders, ~140 MB [158 files, 3 folders, ~79 MB of that is in the "downloaded files" folder], “transp.gif” is added to Windows\, one new .msi file in Windows\ Installer\, a new Windows\ System32\ “Filt” folder holds 155 files, 3 folders, ~93 MB, 2 files were added to Windows\ System32\ Config\, 4 new drivers were installed, and finally one of the Microsoft C++ runtime installs was added. A total of 835 new registry entries were recorded, with a few [mostly tcpip related] modified. Recorded installs in win7 ult 32 SP1 & win7 HP 64 SP1 were almost identical, though in win7 32 a total of 1040 new registry entries were reported — there were several HKLM\ COMPONENTS\ CanonicalData\ Catalogs\ keys recorded however inflating that figure [after re-boot those keys are not visible in regedit]. Installation in win7 HP 64 SP1 had the same [CanonicalData] sort of results, with 57,348 new keys, 172,923 new values reported. At idle in the very resource restricted XP VM I saw CPU % spike to ~13 at idle [combined acs.exe & op_mon.exe] — however when copying large folders &/or doing CPU intensive 7Zip compression Outpost seemed to get out of the way, with usage undetectable in Process Explorer.

Can we choose to install ONLY anti-virus and not the firewall part, the do firewall at a later date?
I'm not sure, if the activation will still be good, if you install a part of the build later.
To answer the 2nd part 1st, you get a real setup file, much like Paragon gives us, that can be run to install any time. I don't know if Outpost phones home when you register or otherwise checks the date, but once you register the key's saved in a "key" file with no other changes recorded -- as long as that "key" file is there, I think future installs or re-installs will be registered... IOW maybe keep a copy in a safe place.
As far as the firewall goes, I don't believe you can skip it -- only the 3 parts I mentioned earlier -- though you should be able to turn the firewall off. If you were using another firewall program however, you *might* want to reinstall it afterwards to make sure everything was as it should be -- I don't know if Outpost's installation routine changes anything regarding an existing firewall app or not. You get one tech support question as part of the giveaway -- asking the Outpost developers how to do what you want might be a good way to use it?

It doesn't recognize the promo code and I have now wasted over an hour and have to reinstall a firewall and anti-virus program again. What a waste of time.
I tried a system restore to yesterday but I guess this is running as a 2 day trial and not allowing the system restore. What a pain. I'm too tired to deal with this anymore. Tomorrow I'll uninstall it and then try the system restore again or else download the old firewall and AV programs again.

I sent a service request to Agnitum 2 days ago about the following problem. I run XP Pro SP3 with dual core and tons of ram. Outpost is installed, updated, successfully registered, and just sitting in my taskbar grayed out and dead. Will not run from program folder, desktop, or taskbar. Hovering over it in taskbar says its' name and under that "service is not available..." This result was had after 4 installs, all with the same result. I completely stripped the computer of all traces after removing the first 3 times. There are NO other security programs, and had cleansed the system of all traces of AVAST before I did the first install. I double checked the removals mentioned in this thread with CCleaner. Two days gone and one e-mail saying a service ticket has been issued-but it was sent the instant i sent in the problem 2 days ago.

They never sent me the license code because the promo code didn't work. I didn't want to be left with no protection when the 2 day trial was over so I uninstalled it and tried to do a System Restore to get my Comodo firewall back. This has created a big mess. I couldn't get on the internet but that seems to be working now. I uninstalled what was left over of Comodo which kept giving me an error message. I reinstalled the firewall which seems to be working OK and the internet is now back. However I still don't have an AV program and Comodo won't let me install their AV portion because it says I have to uninstall the firewall. I can't reach anyone on the phone or through live chat so I guess I'll have to go with another AV program so I have something on my computer.
What a headache.

Know it probably doesn't help, Terri, but you're not alone -- installing/uninstalling AV related software & getting everything working can sometimes turn into a nightmare. If you haven't gotten your choice of AV software installed yet, I'd suggest doing a full backup 1st, so at the very least you can get back to this point in case of further problems. For the AV portion you might also take a look at cloud-based solutions -- there were a few offered free last I looked. Being cloud-based they have a smaller footprint on your system, so with fewer files the developers may feel they don't have to go to such great lengths to protect them all -- in my experience anyway that's where a lot of these sorts of problems start. Good luck.
