   I was looking over the Alawar site today and noticed that they have changed every game page that I could find. I could NOT find a single page (from the oldest games to the newest games) that have a "buy now" button. All of them only have a "download trial" button.

   However, that does NOT mean the games are not for sale. The description on purchasing on the right side has changed in all cases. It used to refer to the buy now button (that was gone) and so was confusing.

   Here is an example of the "new" text -- taken from Treasures of Montezuma 3
   

   To activate the full version of The Treasures Of Montezuma 3, copy and paste the registration key into the appropriate window. To obtain a registration key, run The Treasures Of Montezuma 3 and then select your preferred method of payment.

   Note that you CAN buy the game - you just have to download and and at least start the trial version on your PC first and then purchase the game.

   I don't know what it does with that stupid wrapper but the games are available for purchase there.

   I'm glad to note that because I do surveys for Opinion Outpost. They have a new program that for 30 points (equivalent of $3), you can get 1 game! I need to earn my points to get Treasures of Montezuma 3. I know it's reviewed to be inferior to the other 2 in the series, but I still want it!

   Actually Treasures of Montezuma 3 is not that bad. It's somewhat different from 1 and 2 but I still like to play it. To me it gets more and more difficult as the game progresses. It sometimes takes me many tries to reach the highest score in a level. The sound effects are really cool though.

   I bought games off Alawar before and find this way of doing it now rather stupid. I mean if people would actually want to play all the games they would get funpass from gamehouse. You can earn rewards from gamehouse too now. Take for example to get a $25 amazon gift card that would cost you 50,000 coins. If you want a game $10,000 coins. A person would be better off going with gamehouse and earning stuff.

   Gamehouse and everyone else even Bigfish after.

   The new "method" of purchasing from Alawar does work! I finally got my 30 points from Opinion Outpost and redeemed them for one game code.

   I downloaded and installed the game (Treasures of Montezuma 3). Note - install no longer used your GameBox parameters where to install the game and you are given NO choices. It installs the game into C:Program Files\Alawar. However, you can MOVE (cut/paste) your game folder to go with the rest of your Alawar games. You just have to re-create the shortcut and, if you're comfortable, fix the uninstall (with Revo Uninstaller, it's easy).

   The game opens to a "wrapper" noting it as a trial version. Once you have the unlock code, you can simply follow the on-window messages to "buy the game". If you already have the code, there will be a button to enter the registration ID.

   After that, you will see that wrapper when you start a game saying thank you for buying the full game but not when you terminate the game.

   Note - Gamebox does not know about the game - even if it's in the same folder as all the rest of your Alawar games.

   It's not that bad. In fact, the one PLUS to the setup is it encourages you to be sure the game works (besides if you like it) before you buy it.

   The only thing I disliked about the New treasures of montezuma was that the levels wnded very quickly. Well at least the first 15 or so. you get 60 seconds to collect as many gems as you can. The main difference between the first two and the third is that you can complete the level no matter how many matches and gems you make/collect. Unless you get one of those additional time bonuses the level will end and you automatically progress the the next level.

   what I liked about the first two was the challenge of getting the required number of gems within the time limit. The game now seems too easy (for me at any rate).

   that said i still enjoy playing the game (When I have time)

   I've only done 2 out of 160 levels so I can't say much. I did notice the 1 minute limit and thought that was quite a bit different. It's like a "collection" and I HAD to have the third one. At least it plays pretty much the same as the other in how you make the matches and the look of the "tiles" you match. I can't argue about the price either - 30 points = $3 but I didn't actually pay anything. Since most of their games are $6.99, that's still better than half price even if you consider my survey as "work" for the points.

   You say the Treasures of Montezuma 3 is easy for you. Well would you please enlighten me. Are you playing in casual mode? I too was able to get through the game in the easier mode. However I have been trying to get past the same level in expert mode for several days. I need to get 530 points to get the last gold coin and finish the level. For the life of me I can't seem to get there. You say you automatically progress to the next level. Well you still have to collect all the coins in order to do this. What's your secret?

   Gimme a break - I've still not had a chance to even load the game this evening - I'm still ready for level 3 - casual mode! I did notice how you got those coins - they're tied to your score. I got the 15 K coin before the 5 K coin. That was a bit strange.

   It does say if you don't get what you want, you can re-play a level but I've not seen how yet.

   Well the game is trying to help you out so you get the coin with the highest points you reach in the level. Believe me you will appreciate this as you progress. I finally exceeded 530K points in the level I was on. The next level has 360k as the lowest and I have yet to reach it. Sometimes it seems like I am really racking up the points and I wont even have 100k at the end. Other times I reach this in just a few seconds. I have yet to figure out the secret to this. I have tried going back to the shop and exchanging my stars for different power-ups but it hasn't helped so far. I'm still waiting for Whiterabbit to tell me his secret. :)

    I realized what it was doing. However, there's a serious scoring bug in the program. When you upgrade the bonus for points/gem, you get cheated but still have to upgrade it. You have to get it to the max (all 4 upgrades -- last 2 cost 2 stars each) to get to the 10 X. The third is supposed to give you 1000 points/gem and the last one is 1200 points/gem. However, you NEVER get more than 800 points/gem and that's not even one of the options!

    There is a lot of randomness to this game in what it provides where. That is a major point in how many points you get for each level.

    I've gotten all the way through and the scale shows up to 200 million points. I only got 167 million because of that scoring bug. I'm doing it a second time on Casual and then I'll try it on expert.

    If you don't get that extra star (the value shown to the right), don't worry. Just go back after you've upgraded a bit and replay that chest to get the star. It's much easier that way.

    This is different from the other Montezuma games but I am really enjoying it! My highest level (including the bonus/gem) was over 2,000,000 on the first go-round!
