GMMan posted this over in the game giveaway comments early this morning. He asked if I'd post it here. Apparently Fubar tested it out but he couldn't get it to work. He posted a comment about it in the giveaway comments section HERE[/b]. that doesn't necessarily mean it doesn't work. i'll bdefinitely be testing it out over the next week as I regularily get the 'Failed to Connect' message when trying to download or activate giveaways. I've always found rebooting my modem and/or router worked, but according to someone else (I think it was Mike) that's not the case. apparently it has something to do with the browser you use. anyway, here's GMMans post:
Here’s a little tool for everyone who’s having trouble activating.GOTD Network Troubleshooter
GUI by GMMan, Troubleshooter by Giveaway of the Day.This program contains the official GOTD network troubleshooting module, introduced mid-August, 2009. Due to a lot of antivirus false-positives, it was removed from further wrapper releases just two days after its first release (unfortunately, the extra Software Informer didn’t cause false-positives and was not removed). I still kept the only two wrapper packages it was featured in, and now it is available for your troubleshooting pleasures (lol). Because you can’t use the original DLL on its own, I wrote a GUI wrapper for it, which runs the troubleshooter and interprets its return code and displays the results .
This program requires .NET Framework 3.5 to run.
To use: Run GOTDNetTS.exe, and click on “Troubleshoot”. If your firewall prompts you, make sure to allow the program through. Depending on your problem, the result will be displayed immediately to a few seconds. After you see what your problem is, OK the dialog box, and click OK to exit.
The GUI has been designed to look and act as close as possible to the original troubleshooter GUI in the wrapper. So if it looks a bit awkward, that’s how it was originally. The strings were copied directly from the wrapper, and was fixed up a bit by me so the make a bit more sense. GOTD did the dirty work, and I just made their efforts available to you.
If you do get a virus warning, don’t worry about it. The DLL is GOTD’s original, I haven’t modified it one bit, and GOTD wouldn’t purposely put anything bad in there. If you want to verify my code, PM me on the forum, and I’ll send you the source.

I hope it solves any connection problems you get. Thanks GMMan
