If it helps at all...
Whenever I check out an app in win7 I always run it as admin at first, particularly when entering a key -- win7 sometimes limits what an app can write to in the registry &/or regarding new or existing files. Then I'll run it normally, checking the folder at User\ AppData\ Local\ VirtualStore\ for any new, related files -- if there are any I tend to run as admin always rather than take a chance the app won't be able to read/write what it needs to. If when you're running as admin the extra UAC message dialog bothers you or is inconvenient, you can set it up in Task Scheduler, then set up a shortcut with C:\Windows\System32\schtasks.exe /RUN /TN MyApps\*YourTaskName*. Google/Bing for more info as directions for setting up tasks can get involved from one Windows version to the next.
