   I have had some issues with the Desura client and I know that others on these forums have also had issues. In another topic, I discussed some of the ways I had been working around my issues. Today I was working on activating some games I got as a part of the LazyGuys Bundle. While doing that I realized that the Desura client was again working as it should. I was able to activate games through the client, browse through their catalog of games, etc. After a long period where I could play games, but not do some of the other functions using the client, this was a welcome change.

   I thought I would mention this as others that have been having problems may want to try again to see if the client works for you.

   Same results on my maim machine,even with forced update. I will try it again the next time I reboot. (:(

   Deleted all desura conent including registry entries. double checked to make sure there was no traces then reinstalled. still can't use the thing. I'm okay with the games i installed prior to the problems (pre June last year), but haven't been able to install anything else since. If things don't improve i'm going to dump it altogether.

   Hmmm! I'm wondering whether it's my Win 8.1 set up that's the problem? I may install it onto one of my Win 7 machines to see if it continues to 'break down'.

   Stephan, have you tried using your browser to install and just using the client to play? It is all working fine for me now, but for quite awhile I couldn't install using the client. During all of that time, I could sign into Desura using my browser and after activating a game in the browser (via purchase or gift code) it would ask if it should install the client or it was already installed. I would choose "Desura is installed, Let's Play!" and then the game would get installed so I could play it from the client.

   If you haven't tried this you should, it isn't very cumbersome and I used this process for several months until suddenly everything started working fine and this was no longer necessary.

   Another option is to just download the games and not use the client at all. You may still need to browse to Desura to activate them. Then use your Desura Collection page and download your games from that.
