3D Reversi (5.03Mb)
Here’s a free version of 3D Reversi from Grass games. When starting the game for the first time a configuration window appears that allows you to change several options such as music, sound, resolution, toggle window to full screen as well as graphics quality settings. Some of these options are locked until you create your profile.
On starting the game it will go through a graphics test to make sure your computer is capable of running the game. There is a high level of anti (if you’re not sure what Anti-aliasing does it removes the jagged edges that appear when running games in low resolutions. If your computers graphics chip is quite old it may not support this feature. If you set the anti-aliasing to the highest level there is a chance - especially if you have a low power computer - that it will slow your system down) There are several settings from off to 2x2, 4x4 (with 8 different levels, and 8x8 with three different levels, the highest being 8x8 level 3.
The game is fully customisable, with the ability to change key bindings. You can even set the game to place pieces perfectly, or sloppy and you can play the game with either the mouse or keyboard. Check out the slideshow for images of the various configuration windows that are all accessible from the menu on the right side of the playing arena when you click on the options button to the top right of the game field. You can access the help menu by clicking on the help button situated to the top left of the game field that includes how to play the game, game types and online support.
Othello is the 8x8 board standard variation of Reversi, and is included in the game.
In addition 3D Reversi Deluxe supports playing on 7x7, 9x9 and 10x10 boards.
To add extra depth, the Anti-Reversi game mode is also available for all board sizes. See the in-game help manual for more details.
You can play a multiplayer game with friends. To do this make sure both players are online and have the game booted up and the multiplayer option selected. If that’s not possible there’s an excellent AI Support included. The following was taken from the manual:
3d Reversi Deluxe contains a huge range of personalized AI computer opponents.
These players range in skill from beginner to expert, giving a challenge for all.
Different AI players not only have different intelligence levels, but also have different playing styles.
There is a Board Design menu, that enables you to create your own boards easily. Full board customization is possible, from customizable pictures and models, right up to the various lighting tints applied. These give you the ability to create a very professional looking board design that suits your taste.

How to Play:
When it is your turn to play, you have to place a piece on the board with your colour facing up.
This played piece must cause at least one your opponents colours to flip over to your colour to be a valid move.
To flip your opponents pieces, you must place a piece so that you trap one or more of your opponents pieces between the piece you are about to place and another of your pieces already on the board. You can trap horizontally, vertically or diagonally.

p.s.
there’s a DOS version that’s available called Morphello which is still shareware despite being created way back in the 90’s. You still get all aspects of the game apart from the extra boards. It has to play in DOSBox. Looks almost as good as the above game. You can get it HERE
