Blobbit (17.4MB)
Blobbit, which derives it’s name from the goo-ish blobs that are placed on the playfield, intermingles elements of ‘Go’ with a set of unique ideas. The goal, not unlike the Japanese game of ‘Go’, is to conquer the board—assimilating any other players.
Besides the baseline play variant, there are several play modes available to spice up the default conquest mode. This was added because I felt the game needed something that allowed it to retain replayability. Thus I added a level editor, a competitive online multiplayer mode to attain lasting appeal.

The game play mechanic pretty straightforward and should explain itself by playing a quick game against the AI. If you are stuck – there is a help function inside of the game, that probably does a better job at explaining the ways of playing this game, than I could do here.
All of the game engine was custom written, as are the AI routines and the multiplayer functions. The engine was later expanded to create Earth is a 3D Planet.

When unzipping the game, try unzipping it to the folder you wish it to be installed to. The game comes ready to play once you’ve unpacked it, so you’ll need to create a shortcut. The game includes online play with the ability to create your own server. This means you’ll be able to play against friends if you wish. There is also an editor included.
Don’t confuse this game with another game going by a similar name called Blobbit Dash
