3D Asteroids:
Grass games claims that this is the first ever true 3D asteroids game. Other games that profess to be 3D are in actual fact 2D versions with 3D models and effects. The game is available for both Win and Mac systems.
On starting the game you will get a setup window that allows you to adjust your screen resolution, toggle between full screen (default) and windowed and change the refresh rate. There are also two note buttons, the first one suggests you update your graphics drivers if the game runs slowly, it also mentions that the game utilizes Open GL and lists some download sites depending upon your graphics drivers.
The second note advises you to run the game in full screen and keep the resolution low (that is the default setting of 640 x 480) because the large number of asteroids being drawn later in the game can be very demanding on your system.

Before you can start the game proper you have to go through a series of short tutorials that tell you about your ship and how to steer it.
The game play is quite hard because inside your ship you have five monitors showing you front back, left and right and up and down. Until you get used to these the game can be quite confusing. I had to change the keyboard configuration before I could play the game as the way it was set up initially just didn’t work for me. Don’t forget to use the camera controls as well.
These helped me steer my ship towards asteroids. The only down side I found with this game was that there was no explosions when you hit an asteroid, instead it just disappeared. If you hit an asteroid with your ship a bright yellow light appears with a reddish orange tinge to it’s outer edges. Overall, the graphics are dated, but the game play makes up for this.
