I find it worthless. I have only one optical drive, so copying directly from optical-to-optical is not a choice for me.

I don't think that having only one optical drive makes BlindWrite worthless.
BlindWrite lets you make a wotking backup of any of your games. So if the original game gets scratched and you need to reinstall it, the backup copy can be used in its place without any problems.
A lot of games require to have the cd/dvd inserted in the drive in order to play. If, for any reason, the cd/dvd becomes unreadable, you won't be able to play the game any more.
With BlindWrite you can make a copy of the game ahead of time. Then you can either use the original to play and use the backup if it breaks, or use the baclup to play and if it brakes, make another backup to play. That way, you never have to use the original game, which should increase its working life greatly.
BlidWrite gives you the ability to create a copy of the cd/dvd and store it in your hard drive. Using virtual drives you won't even have to use the game cd/dvd at all to play the game. Just create a virtual cd or dvd player, mount the copy created by BlindWrite and the game should work without a hitch.
I am in no way trying to change your mind about the usability of BlindWrite. I just wanted to point some possible ways that one can put BlindWrite to use even if you only have one drive.

I already have Virtual CD for that. I can also make an ISO from the CD and then use Daemon Tools to mount and play the game.
It's not that BlindWrite is useless, but I already have good methods of doing what it does. Copying from optical to optical is the only thing I don't have a special piece of software for, and I don't have the ability to copy files that way.
I'm not going to install BlindWrite because I have absolutely no use for it. :)

Dan,
As you only have one optical drive, then as you say, you cannot copy directly from optical to optical... but you CAN copy from optical to hard-disk, then from hard-disk to optical. The benefit I see with blindwrite is that it copies all the hidden stuff (like deliberate bad sectors) used as copy protection by software vendors. Simple ISO copy of a disk to a virtual disk image tends not to work in this instance. What I am puzzled about is actually HOW to create a virtual disk that I can mount onto my system.... I've succeded in taking a blindwrite copy of a disk onto my hard disk, and then copying this out to a CD..... ( note that I already have pinacle software on my PC that creates ISO images on disk which I am able to mount)

After making a copy it then asks if it can delete it. And it doesn't even make it in BIN or ISO format... What's the deal with that?
